Large coffee shop with plenty of seating located in downtown Rochester. The menu is expansive, so you're guaranteed to find something you like. Highly recommend the London fog. There are also sandwiches and pastries available. There is wifi and outlets if you want to work, and a pool table downstairs if you need a break. Street parking is available nearby. As we were leaving, it looked as if they were setting up for live music, I definitely want to come back to experience that as well. Overall a great spot for coffee and more
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, but after living in the city for almost ten years, this was my first visit. It's located off East Avenue, near the Eastman School of Music. I chose this spot because it's open past 7 pm. The place has a very cool vibe with plenty of seating options, both inside and outside. The drink menu is extensive, and they even have huge Rice Krispy treats. I'd definitely recommend coming here, and I'll be back again. 4.5/5 Parking can be tricky.
Worked a nearby festival and was in desperate need of a Java upload. Stopped in and was surprised at how cool the ambiance is, there's this inviting hipster caffeine fueled vibe. Ordering was fast and accurate even with a long line. I went with an iced caramel macchiato. It was a delicious cool refreshing much needed beverage. It was so good I came back a few more times over the next few days, also trying their chocolate espresso cake.... Mmmmm They have multiple drinks to choose from, from coffee, teas, espresso and juices. The same goes for their bakery and pastries section. Located on Gibbs street, street was closed for the festival making it super easy to access otherwise parking might be challenging.
Java has always been my go to when place to relax and sip some coffee. I always loving coming here, if you're in the area, stop and stay a while.
Large assortment of pastries - both sweet and savory - for breakfast at the cafe, be sure to come early enough before they run out! Spinach and feta croissant was good, got it warmed, just didn't taste the spinach as much. Toasted and yummy.
Absolutely loved this coffee shop as soon as I walked in, the decor and location seems perfect! They also sell sandwiches as well! This place can easily get packed out the door but the staff and service are really friendly but also on top of their game that it would die down quick. Lots of things on their menu so if you get the chance please look at it! Tried their cannoli and blueberry scone. Cannoli was too sweet for me but it's really good. Really loved the blueberry scone, it's huge and also tasty. Recommend coming here for lunch and getting their sandwiches and/or salad! Overall great choice here!
My friends who go to RIT rave about this place and I finally had to stop here with them before they graduated. Fast friendly service. They had a buy 1 get one promo for graduates when we went. I love a good study spot - would definitely be here more often if I lived here. I understand why it is so hyped up, will be back for sure.
If your like me and need a coffee fix more often than most you have to go to Javas!!! Located right in the heart of ROC off East Ave near Eastman theater is Java's Cafe. It's very cute and eclectic inside. You'll feel like your in a little coffee shop in NYC! Staff are nice and fellow patrons are super friendly. They have desserts and yummy sandwiches too- if coffee is not your thing. But trust me- one cafe here and you'll be hooked!!! Enjoy!!!
Every coffeeshop I go to, I compare to this place, because it's just that good. And after two years of traveling through Northeastern USA and parts of Europe, I can confidently say no other place compares. The coffee is AMAZING, the espresso is just the right balance of sweet and bitter. I have not tried many of their non-espresso drinks but their Turmeric Golden Latte and Aztec Mocha are pretty good. Baristas are super sweet. THE SANDWHICHES. ARE SO GOOD. But they only have them 11-3 from Monday-Saturday and tend to run out! The spinach feta/leek parmesan croissant pastries are also excellent. As for the vibes, it's a bit chaotic, but in the best way. I love to come here and study as well as catch up with a friend. Not that many places where you can do both! If you are anywhere near Rochester, come to this Javas location, it does not disappoint.
Great spot for chill vibes or studying. The drinks were good, a unique specialty menu. I got the Gold Star and thought the ingredients sounded funny but tasted pretty good. The baristas were also really nice and fast. The only complaint is that the counter is really close to the door, which limits the line.
